RIP Satoru Iwata

Much deserved praise has been heaped upon Nintendo's president and CEO Satoru Iwata since his untimely passing one week ago. He was a colorful and enthusiastic figure in an increasingly jaded and occasionally toxic industry. As a young programmer, he helped bring Balloon Fight - one of my all-time favorite games - to life in 1985. I have mad respect for his body of work and his presence in the gaming world. Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata....

"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer." - Satoru Iwata
